I make unique and small batch objects with a variation of commercial stoneware and locally harvested clay, my pots are hand build or thrown or both. I use different kinds of oxides, carbonates, stains, engobes and glazes to decorate them before firing at mid-fire temperatures range.

My first inspiration is my everyday life with my two daughters in Big Sur, California, their freedom doing art really inspires me. I am also inspired by different art and political movements of the twentieth century like the Back to the Land movement, L’ art brut, the dadaïsme and also more simply old European pottery style. My childhood spent between industrial Central Europe and Mediterranean landscapes is always with me and the dramatic yet peaceful landscape of Big Sur influences my practice on an everyday basis..

I embrace defaults and inconsistencies in my pieces and believe that handmade objects inspire hope and trust in humankind and artisanal techniques are essential to carry on.

My approach to clay is childish and intuitive. I am very curious when it comes to experiment with glazes, oxides, found natural elements and the firings. My self taught learning process allows me to wonder freely with all the parameters and the mediums.
